Searching in my memories, I realized that, as is common in this hobby, my first flag sketches (I'm taking about more than 15 years ago) were related to a future, highly implausible scenario of warring superstates (Ogre/GEV was the main inspiration back then) that I thought about in secondary school. Now I would find it bland and boring as a map, but not as a set of flags, so I wanted to give a homage to it. I remeber all of those flags by memory, but in these years I've recycled or partially recycled some of them, and I was not convinced anymore by some others, so only roughly half of it is close to, or exactly as those sketches were.View attachment 292334
I can guess the lands most of these superstates would encompass, but where is the Trilateral Consortium?

My proposal for a union of all the Latin American nations. Made with the colors present on all Latin American flags, the Sun of May as a prominent symbol, red as a prominent color, and a diamond arrange inspired in Brazil.

EDIT: I'm changing the Latin American Federation for the more ludicrous but original Brazilian Commonwealth. The LAF flag was pretty neat, IMO, and it will be a standalone concept.

The brasilean commonwealth makes me think that the Confederados demographic grew to the point where they managed to staged a coup somehow.

Yeah, I thought about that. As I did it as a teenager, the premise is quite ludicrous. With USA's collapse in the 2020's/2030's, most South American governments crumbled. Only Brazil stood on, and proceeded to restore order and put the former Mercosur nations under a protectorate of sorts. The 12 stars stand for Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Guyana and Suriname.

a long over-due re-design is the Iranian flag that i posted a while ago, the colors and symbolism is still the same but i just added the phrase "Allahu Akbar" from the Iraqi flag because of all the conflict i stared up and i apologize, the next 3 (Ivory Coast, Jordan and Kiribati) will be posted tonight if i remember, and as always, hope ya like!

Below are the following two alternate flags that I personally made for my "Lone Star Republic TL" timeline:

Republic of the Rio Grande

wow, it sure has been a long time since we did this, but here are the next three in the "New World flags" series: Ivory Coast (Cote D'ivoire), Jordan and Kiribati. so without further adue...
Ivory Coast (Cote D'ivoire)
upload_2016-10-29_10-57-22.png

Colors:
green: 0-128-0 orange: 255-128-0
Symbolism: the orange stands for the land and the savannas found in the northern part of the country and fertility, the white represents peace and the green represents hope and the forests found in the southern part of the country.
Changes: ok, i'm not the first one to point out that the flag looks alot like Ireland's (just the color swap) so at first i turned it into a horizontal tri-color but it looked alot like India so i looked to Africa to find inspiration then i found the DRC and its amazing diagonal stripes so i used that, and the resalt is pretty good, it is identifiable, unique and simple. so yea Ivory Coast.
Jordan
upload_2016-10-29_11-9-58.png

Colors:
green: 0-64-0 red: 206-17-38
Symbolism: the black stands for the Abbasid caliphate, the white stands for the Umayyad caliphate and peace, the green represents the Fatimid caliphate and Islam, the red represents Arab Revolt and the blood shed for the revolt and finally the star represents the unity of the Arab people.
Changes: honestly there's not much to say here, i just made the 7 point star a 5 point star and made it bigger, at first i wanted to make the star bigger and then job done, but due to my limitations *cough* MS paint *cough* so i made it a 5 point, so yea if you want to fix it please do.
Kiribati
upload_2016-10-29_11-49-26.png

Colors:
red: 216-17-25 yellow: 252-209-22 blue: 17-70-173
Symbolism: the blue and white represent the pacific ocean, the 3 bands on the bottom represents the 3 groups of islands: Gilbert, Phoenix and the Line islands, the 17 rays of the sun represent the 16 Gilbert Islands and Banaba, the frigatebird symbolizes command of the sea, power, freedom and Kiribati cultural dance patterns, the sun refers to Kiribati's position astride the equator and finally the red stands for...i dont know? i couldn't find anything? um...please help?
Changes: ok lets get one thing straight: yes, i did use the Company of Scotland from 1698 as a start, i apologize. and with that being said, i really like the current flag but there was just something that i didn't like so i tried to find something that works better, so i found this and it looks pretty good, it's some what simple and unique.
ah, there we go, next 3 will be: Latvia, Lebanon and Luxembourg and until then, hope ya like!

Social-Anarchist Republic of Moscow.1953-1955
The very next day after Stalin's a huge war for power begins, not only in the Soviet Union, but all around the world, causing a wave of revolutions, rebellions, and civil wars, both in the european and asian communist countries. The Democrat Block quickly seizes control and aids democratic factions install their goverment. However within the walls of the Kremlin a faction formed from former strong communists defend themselves against any democratic intervention. The hardcore communists build entrenchments and pillboxes around the city to defend agains the democratic invasion that seemed unavoidable. However no such event takes place, and without any trade or resources, the city-state falls prey to anarchy and it's citizens turn to looting, murder and cannibalism to survive, since there is no economy, no law enforcement except for armed guards preventing contact with the exterior. After two years of isolation, there is barely anyone inside the city state. Civillians have either killed eachother or themselves, the "army" left, being lured by a normal life outside the communist area, but the goverment stayed, hoping for a return of communism, and eventually froze to death. On December 1 1956, the city of Moscow is delcared devoided of any human, and is considered an abandoned city.
The flag was not made by the city state itself, but it was attributed to it by other nations. The Black has a dual meaning. On one side it represents the anarchy of the past and on the other it represents the bleak present of the city. The Red and Gold saltire and the stars also have more meanings. One can say they represent marxism as they are both common colors found on flags of socialist nations, but they are also used to satirize communism as Red and Gold represent prosperity through revolution, but it was a revolution that led to total lack prosperity.

Brazil's flag reminds me of a DJ's turntable.

My first thought on seeing that flag was Belgium. It looks a lot like their navy's flag.
