DBWI: Bush family successful in politics

The famous investment banker and real estate developer Prescott Bush twice ran for the U.S. Senate in the 1950's and lost. He did serve briefly as Secretary of Commerce (1958-1959).

What if Bush was able to win election to the Senate? Would he have been regarded as a future Presidential contender? Would his children and grandchildren have succeeded in winning political office?

Hard to say. That one son of his, GHW Bush, ended up as some bigwig with Planned Parenthood, promoting birth control distribution in the Third World. That might be seen as a little too offbeat for conservative American voters.
