Now, we all know of Elser assassination of Hitler in November of 1939 in Munich. What if Elser fail? What if the bomb fail to go off? Or later?

Well, I dunno. It probably wouldn't have stopped the Shoah, or Germany getting curbstomped by just about all of the rest of the Western world(and turned into a neutral nation afterwards.)after they tried to invade France and the Low Countries.
Our best bet is looking at Harry Turtledove's "A Divided Germany" from 1991, with the initial POD of Elser's failure to kill Hitler. The war ends with a divided Germany and goes all the way up to the fall of the Iron Curtain in late 1989/early 1990(spring 1989 IOTL), and the fall of the Soviet Union in December, 1991(June 1991 IOTL). One interesting thing to note is that Franco's Spain stays out of the war and survives to 1975.....whereas they fell in 1945 IOTL.
OOC: Folks, you do realize the war had already started in Sept. 1939, right? Cooler heads were NOT going to prevail at this point; there WAS going to be a war. Granted, though, there may be room to butterfly the Wannsee conference, so TTL's Shoah may not be quite as industrialized(but it was still happening, though).
OOC: You do realise that the phoney war would not have lasted right? The allies were planing a major offensive if the germans did not attack the allies would have at some point. And I can't seriously believe that an undefeated France wold leave Germany off the hook a mere twenty year after the last war.OOC Cooler heads decided against attacking France instead continued the phoney war, wrapped up Norway, etcetera.

OOC: I completely disagree with this France and Britain were not ready to sue for peace in 1939. War already started and unless the German invaded and crushed France they won't go easy on Germany. Sorry but this scenario would not end in a german wank not when the german would struggle with the power vacuum Hitler death left. Also the nazis wouldn't be any less nazis without Hitler.OOC France and Britain attacked, were repulsed, and sued for peace and Germany kept their eastern possessions. WW2 was not predestined to be a fight to the death, until when enough blood was spilled did that become inevitable.
