AH Challenge: Strong Social Credit Party in USA
During the great depression many Americans turned to the ideas of communism and socialism as a means to end the great depression. In the election of 1932, the combined vote for both the Socialists and communists was at 988,196.. FDR himself enacted many programs which came directly from the Socialist playbook.

At the same time in Alberta, An answer to the Socialists and Communists came from the small but vocal Social Credit Party. It formed a majority government in 1935. Many western canadian and Quebec MPs sent to parliament as members of the Social credit party. Social Credit parties also popped up in Australia and New Zealand. However, there were no real Socred parties in the US.

The challenge here is to establish a successful Social Credit party in the US no earlier than 1928.

Alfred William Lawson finds a supporter who owns a radio station. Lawson makes his speeches, gets broader attention.

Lawson's Direct Credits Society had many concepts of social credit in its program. Lawson was apparently stirringly popular wherever he spoke. He believed that all the radio stations were controlled by "financiers" and so wouldn't speak on the radio or allow his speeches to be advertised on it or in any publication except his own newspaper Benefactor.

If Lawson had had wider exposure now . . .
