  1. Ten Days That Shook the World: the documents

I think the top one is quite plausible, regardless of what they claim. As for an animal... maybe the Shark, given that they are a sea power and this is long before Jaws demonised sharks?
  2. Ten Days That Shook the World: the documents

Looks good. Map please. I'm not sure if a communist Britain would have elements of the Union Jack, the crosses being religiously inspired...
  3. Map Thread VI

    Brilliant.
  4. Greece joins Warsaw pact

Turkey gets a lot more aid, has a much bigger army and is in general a lot more powerful country.
  5. Ireland if sealion was sucessful

If they didnt help the Brits at that stage IOTL, why would they just because Ireland was involved?
  6. Ireland if sealion was sucessful

Why on Earth would we have done that, given the facf that they would be helpless to defend us? Sadly, many Irish people took the 'enemy of my enemy' attitude towards the Nazis...
  7. Ireland if sealion was sucessful

Maybe at first, but I can't see why they would have left us as anything other than a satellite for long. If anything,m to prevent the country becoming a huge base for US espionage.
  8. Ireland if sealion was sucessful

I would imagine we would have surrenderd lickety-split. ?wouldn't be much else we could have done.there could well have been some guerilla resistance from left-wing groups, but if the Germans returned NI to Dublin, then I'm sad to say, most Irish would probably have been indifferent to it.
  9. Suppose after the Suez Crisis Britain turned more to Europe and away from the USA

But they did take a side IOTL, and it made minimal difference.
  10. Andropov and the survival of the Soviet Union

I don't neccesarily agree, but even if that was true, it still leaves the premise of Brezhnev going earlier and the USSR surviving valid.
  11. Suppose after the Suez Crisis Britain turned more to Europe and away from the USA

Only if they could somehow avoid decolonisation. The two combined still wouldn't be as powerful as either the USA or the USSR.
  12. Andropov and the survival of the Soviet Union

Yeah, I think one way or another, you need to either get rid of or substantially reduce the Premiership of Brezhnev. You can do that at either end and make avoiding the lack of stagnation plausible, i.e. either Khruschev stays longer or Andropov gets in earlier. But remember the butterflies...
  13. Can Germany defeat Poland without the Soviets?

This is true, but Polish ones seems to have the biggest disparity between what they believe and what's real. In my experience, anyway.
  14. Can Germany defeat Poland without the Soviets?

I have heard some wild delusion from Polish nationalists over the years but nothing as crazy as this.
  15. WI Eurasian Socialist Republic

I certaintly dont think belarus or Ukraine would have ended up independent (it's not at all clear whether Belarus ever wanted to be independent)...
  16. WI Eurasian Socialist Republic

No interest in this one? I'm mainly thinking how would the USSR end without the predetermined boders which it split on IOTL?
  17. Map Thread VI

I cannot for the life of me understand why so many people's future maps have Abkhazia and South Osettia as part of Georgia.... not going to happen.
  18. WI Eurasian Socialist Republic

WI instead of being a federal union, the USSR had become one entity, with administrative divisions but no ones based on nations, i.e. no SSRs based on ethnicity, just one gargantuan country? How would things have changed?
  19. Map Thread VI

Neither is Albania (or, for that matter, were many of the SSRs).
  20. Is Greater Greece plausible?

What would that country's population be by now, roughly?
