An alien invasion scenario by rvbomally which sees Martians, based on those featured in the War of the Worlds, invading Earth in 1862. This invasion puts the then-ongoing American Civil War on hold and united humanity under the Concord of Mankind, an ad-hoc military alliance of Earth's great powers. The Martian War ends with much of South America, Central Asia and all of Australia under Martian control, and begins a long-standing rivalry between the two planets.

Technically a sequel to The War of Martian Aggression, Scarlet Storm follows the story of humanity and the other sapient species of the Solar System. Scarlet Storm can be read here, and a DeviantArt gallery for it can be reached here.
