LOSERS - The League of Small European Republics and States TL

Dedicated to the memory of Just Leo. Keep flyin' !

A deliberately frivolous, tongue-in-cheek timeline about the seven smallest countries in Europe (in terms of size and population) and their alternate military history. Written by Petike.

Currently in the process of being written and drawn. For a sneak-peak of military vehicles featured in the TL, see the lists available below. Consider this a work page only, for now.

Acronym notes:
WIP = “Work in progress”
COO = “Country of origin”
TBD = “To be determined”

During an ATL version of the Cold War, the smallest countries in Europe decided to create their own small diplomatic, military and economic alliance, in addition to NATO and the European Community (i.e. the later EU). Thus, the League of Small European Republics and States (LOSERS) was born. ;-)

Plausibility discussions

Challenge: Small countries with top-notch air forces, started by Petike - Older discussion, started long before this project became a consistent idea.

Ask me about Icelandic history, courtesy of Fabilius - Loosely involved. Important because it contains ideas on what the names of the service branches of a potential Icelandic military might be like.

Challenge: The Icelandic Armed Forces and Air Force, started by Petike

Recommend me affordable unmotorized artillery for countries under 350 000 inhabitants, started by Petike

Challenge: Lëtzebuerger Loftwaff (Luxembourg Air Force), started by Petike

The Northrop F5 is a bigger success, courtesy of Pangur - An interesting discussion and quite useful to this TL, since the air force of one of the nations involved operates a few newer F-5s.

Let's buff up the Maltese Air Wing (but only a bit compared to OTL), started by Petike
