Settlement/City-building Map Game

Started by Zuvarq in November 2011, this map game was an attempt to build up on (pun-intended) on the foundation layed out by Baconheimer's City Map Game.

The game appeared in two incarnations, the first being the November 2011 one, and the second one being started in December 2011.

Like Bacomheimer's project, this wasn't a particularly long-lived city-construction map game, but it lasted long enough to refine some of the ideas introduced in that pioneering city-building map game.

Rules and Gameplay

Info on the two different versions of the map game.

November 2011 version:

Rules
- Be fairly plausible.
- Claim before you do a turn.
- No the Mexican-American War cannot happen earlier than it did OTL.
- Buildings need to have outlines. Natural things do not have outlines.

Notes
- You don't have to be a good artist. As long as what you draw can be identified as what it is, then you're fine.
- Though you do have to be fairly plausible you don't have to be perfectly realistic. This is in a fictional world in a mapgame.
- Turns can be from 1-4 years depending on how much you want to do.

Starting map
Year 1800. Just a family farm, the settlement starts small.”.

December 2011 version:

“Rules
- Be fairly plausible.
- Claim before you do a turn.
- Buildings and structures need to have outlines. Natural things do not have outlines.
- You must include the city info form with each turn.
