A man of Neolithic Britain

I was born in what is now Britain, in the year 5,085 BC, or something like that- the centuries get rather blurry after a while. I don't remember much from that time, but I do remember my first death- fighting a neighbouring tribe. After I awoke, I was reveared for a while, but as I watched my friends and family grow old and die, while I stayed the same I decided to leave.

Over the next few decades, I journied around Britain, and later built a boat and travelled across much of what is now called Europe, Asia and North Africa. I think I've learned four dozen languages by now, many no longer spoken.

I couldn't stay in any one place more than ten or twenty years in case my unageing appearence caused too many questions. Such is the lot of an immortal…

But I don't want to bore you with the ramblings of an old man…

Ay'eyh remembers...

My birthname was Ay'eyh. Even after I left my tribe, I still used it for centuries. Back then, there weren't that many people, and they didn't ask too many awkward questions.

About six and a half thousand years ago, I arived in what is now Egypt. I took the name Anu, and acted as what you'd call a shaman. I may have overdid it on the whole jackal mask thing, though…

Then I did what I thought I would never do again - I fell in love.

Tia reminded me so much of my darling Jah'yeh. But I knew I couldn't stay with her too long. After she died and our children grew up, I took up my wandering again.

I drifted my way through Palestine, living in Jericho- to think a city even older than I was. (Though it was tiny in comparison to modern ones.)

I lived amongst the pre-Sumerians (generally called Ubadians nowadays), and stayed in Ur for a while, under the name of Nebu.

Mostly, I drifted from Egypt to Mesopotamia and the surrounding lands, and came back again and again.
