The Worldbuilding Thread - A thread for discussions about worldbuilding among board members.
Project Gutenberg - The first and largest single collection of free electronic books, or eBooks. Currently has over 25,000 books.
The Internet Archive - This non-profit organization was founded to build an Internet library, with the purpose of offering permanent access for researchers, historians, and scholars to historical collections that exist in digital format. Founded in 1996 and located in the Presidio of San Francisco, the Archive has been receiving data donations from Alexa Internet and others. In late 1999, the organization started to grow to include more well-rounded collections. Now the Internet Archive includes texts, audio, moving images, and software as well as archived web pages in our collections. At the moment, it has 138,364 movies, 60,063 concerts, 304,807 audio recordings, and 547,917 texts. Big collection of links as well.

The History Files, by Kessler and Associates - A great resource with large and detailed King Lists from various regions of the world, as well as numerous maps and feature articles on various historical periods. An especially good resource for timelines dealing with Dark Age Britain.
An amazing resource found by VoCSe (or whatever he's called this week) - Includes a lot of detailed information on European history from the late 15th to the early 18th centuries.
The Avalon Project - A rather extensive collection of documents in law, diplomacy and history. Pretty much every treaty since 4000 BC can be found here, along with all kinds of charters, grants, statutes and the like.
A Historian Goes to the Movies - “Exploring history on the screen.” An entertaining, but most of all informative look at accuracy and veracity problems in films and television works depicting various historical periods and topics.
Skeptoid.com - A critical, sober look at misconceptions, myths and urban legends. The main focus is its regular podcast and blog.
South of the Sahara - A useful list of African-related sites.
Virtual Autopsy - Brush up on all those skills you picked up watching CSI.
The Internet Classics Archive - Select from a list of 441 works of classical literature by 59 different authors, including user-driven commentary and “reader's choice” Web sites. Mainly Greco-Roman works (some Chinese and Persian), all in English translation.
Footnotes to History - An overview of ephemeral states, micronations, secessionist states, and every other kind of country you never heard of in high school, and as such quite a useful source for alternate history ideas (thanks go to Tony Jones for the link).

Vintage Scans - Apparently, the criteria for this site is a) interesting advertising pictures from magazines or b) Taken sometime between the 1930s to 60's or c) Involving pretty women. Bonus points if all three can be accomplished apparently.
