Tecumseh's Curse (Also known as the Curse of Tippecanoe, presidential curse, zero-year curse, the twenty-year curse, the twenty-year presidential jinx, etc.) describes the pattern whereby a President, elected in a year ending with zero, has died every twenty years since 1840 and until 1960.
Those said to have fallen pray to the curse are President's William Henry Harrison, Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield, William McKinley, Warren G. Harding, Franklin Roosevelt, and John F. Kennedy. The curse was supposedly broken when President Reagan survived his assassination attempt in 1981.
Similarly, every President since Nixon has had at least one assassination attempt.
