Seat Control Bill

Jimbrock introduced the Seat Control Bill in the first days of the 2009-10 Parliament in response to Iori's Party Switching Bill. While the Party Switching Bill had attempted to put Parliamentary seats more firmly in the hands of parties, Jimbrock's bill confirmed precedent by asserting that MPs could switch parties at will. The bill was later dropped in the brouhaha surrounding the Military Bill and Direct Democracy Bill, but it was later incorporated into the more comprehensive 2009 Procedures and By-Laws Bill.

Text of the Bill

WHEREAS the Government of AH.Com has no established procedure on the control of seats of Parliament once they have been distributed;

MAY IT BE ENACTED that once the Political Parties, having been entrusted seats through fair and democratic elections, have passed the seats on the members chosen by procedures of their choice, the Member of Parliament has complete control of his/her own seat and may do with it as s/he wishes.
