Party of the Brethren of the Waterless Sea

An AH.com political party created by Krall in this thread. The Party of the Brethern of the Waterless Sea is a group of politically active Space Pirates with generally libertarian economic and security policies, because it makes their jobs easier. They are generally supportive of AH.com's nobility and monarchy, but believe that the Landsraad's election system should be simplified so cabin boys and wenches can understand it.

Party Symbol

The Seal of the Brethren of the Waterless Sea.

Party Members

  • Krall - Admiral of the Brethren Fleet and Party Chairman.

Party Manifesto

Economic policy

The Brethren of the Waterless Sea support a very libertarian economic policy, including rather unrestrictive space admiralty laws (it makes pirac- I mean fund raising so much easier).

Noob policy

Provided they can swab a deck in zero gravity and aren't afraid to take part in boarding actions, all newcomers are fine with us.

Landsraad policy

As an occupation that thrived during the era of powerful nobility and monarchy, we pirates are generally supportive the Landsraad's existance and its position as a legislative body that represents the nobility. Its election system, however, ought to be simplified somewhat, primarily so that any peer can fill any seat, not just those in his or her peerage.

Security and military policy

No one knows space better than Space Pirates, and this, we feel, gives us the necessary expertise to state that the AH.com military is sorely lacking in orbital and interplanetary defences. The Parliament building, in particular, is vulnerable to attack from space. We therefore suggest that the Parliament building be moved to a Moon Base on the Moon (the name of which will be “Moonbase 02”), and that the Imperial Guard - in order to keep with the space theme, and to avoid copyright issues - should change its name to the “Imperial Laser Rifles”.

Duelling policy

We believe the rules on duelling be clarified and restrictions on duelling be generally removed, so that the common man can challenge someone to a duel, and then pointlessly stab them/be stabbed to death. We also believe that the laws on insult swordfighting and other famous pirate pastimes be clarified in a similar manner.

Ryder policy

Ryder? I barely even know 'er! (I'm sorry, but I've wanted to make that joke for days now.)
