Filled with trees. Portland is nice only because they have this huge bookstore (Powells) that constitutes an entire city block. Has Crater Lake, and a big cheese factory near Tillamook Bay. [[Dave Howery]] once lived in the eastern part of the state, in a <del>horrible horrible</del> reasonably nice (because it has the single museum in the whole of Oregon Country that sells something other than Lewis and Clark-related merchandise and books) town called Baker City, which, after living there for a couple of days, he quickly nicknamed "The Armpit of Creation." | Filled with trees. The term "Oregon Country", often mentioned in AH, refers to a much larger territory disputed between the USA and Britain/Canada. The bottom half of this eventually became the states of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, while the northern half became part of British Columbia. A quick glance at the map thread will show a large number of maps by Britons/Canadians and Americans claiming the whole territory for their country. No-one is quite sure why. | The term "Oregon Country", often mentioned in AH, refers to a much larger territory disputed between the USA and Britain/Canada.
