A small state on the eastern seaboard of the USA, sandwiched between offtopic/New York State to the north, New York City to the east, and offtopic/Pennsylvania to the west. It has a certain reputation to Americans, while Europeans generally have not heard of it…or, at least this was the case until the debut of “The Jersey Shore”, after which New Jersey has become globally infamous. It returned to the news more recently when the state was ravaged by Hurricanes Irene and Sandy in 2011 and 2012.
Once upon a time, the American tendency to refer to the state as simply 'Jersey' would confuse Britons, who would think they were meant the one in the English Channel. This is uncommon nowadays, though.
New Jersey has an industrialised northern half and a pleasant green southern half. There is also an isolated mountainous part in the north-west that's a section of Appalachia. The Atlantic coastline is a popular tourist destination, with long sandy beaches, amusement parks, and casinos in locales such as Atlantic City and Seaside Heights. It seems to be used as a commuting zone for people who work in nearby New York City and Philadelphia.
New Jersey has spawned a ridiculous number of AH.commers, most of which are seemingly incapable of organising a root in a brothel or, even, a meetup, including:

The planet Najoisey from AH.com Wars is a parody of Naboo from the Star Wars prequels. In contrast to the planet it's parodying, it is less of a lush green world and more of a stereotypically industrialized and urbanized wasteland.
