From the Greek words eutopios(happy place) and outopios (no place). Sir Thomas More coined the term and intended both meanings. Utopianism refers to various political, economic, religious movements to find or restore a Golden Age or Paradise on Earth. The opposite of utopia is dystopia. Alternate history is often about creating a timeline that is significantly better than OTL.
