Colombia

Named after Christopher Columbus. The core of the old Spanish Viceroyalty of New Granada, and latterly Gran Colombia (which also includes Venezuela, Ecuador and Panama). Colombia currently has a problem with FARC, a very large rebel force that taxes various plants that create drugs that are immediately sent to the US. The Colombian government is heavily backed by the US in order to stop this, with their President very pro-US, due to obvious reasons. Other than the constant civil war, Colombia is also known for their coffee, namely Juan Valdez with the donkey, although one could argue he looks Mexican.
