This [[Poland]] was occupied by the [[Third Reich (Hitler's Mediterranean Strategy)|Third Reich]] until the coup against [[Adolf Hitler (Hitler's Mediterranean Strategy)|Hitler]] in 1945. Poland was restored as a democratic republic, lost most lands east of the Curzon line to the [[Soviet Union (Hitler's Mediterranean Strategy)|Soviet Union]], except Lemberg, and gained East Prussia, the eastern halfs of Pomerania and Silesia, and joined the [[European Economic Community (Hitler's Mediterranean Strategy)|EEC]] in 1963.
