[[offtopic:MerryPrankster]]'s short story //**Coil Gun**//, which is set in a timeline created for this very board after a challenge from [[reddie]], appeared in //Pressure Suite: Digital Science Fiction 3//. Set in the opening hours of WWIII between the United States and the Afrikaner Confederation, an apartheid-like superpower encompassing most of the Indian Ocean basin, it is told from the alternating POVs of the American controller of a field of satellite-launching electromagnetic cannon and an Afrikaner intelligence officer.
