A thread started by a new member to introduce themselves. More often than not, this leads to a [[offtopic:n00b Hazing]].

A running joke (though only true about 75% of the time) is that any member who posts an intro thread in NPC will never show up again, though the thread will turn into a many-page thread on an unrelated discussion.
