Heraldry is often used within Alternatehistory.com. Alternate coats of arms are designed by users and posted in threads in the [[offtopic:Maps and Graphics Forum]], and are created for timelines and games.

During the era of the Imperial Republic, heraldry was used by the nobles of AH.com and various political parties. Heraldry was regulated by various bodies, but these ceased to exist along with the Imperial Republic. However, the arms of the Empress of AH.com are still in common use as her office was assumed to be preserved. 

The [[offtopic:Escutcheonist Party]] was an AH.com Political Party that made heraldry one of their most important issues.
