Beware the Central Brazilian Wasteland!
The only cities nuked in the state of
Goiás, Brazil, are the capital Goiânia and the industrial hub Anapolis. Futhermore, the Federal District, encircled by the Goiás State, was nuked hard by a Tsar bomb, wiping any memory of the former Brazilian capital abd bringing a more desvatanting nuclear winter to Goiás.
After the bombs, some factions emerged to dispute the Barren Cerrado. The situation in 2160 is:
1 - Serrinha - Some Goiânia habitants survived, although "ghoulized", often called as Mortos. They are feared, hunted and enslaved. They have constructed a fort in the
Serrinha mount, offering a sanctuary to any morto or persecuted human.
2 - [Old] Goiás - After the bombs fell, the remaining of the state government run to the old capital, Goiás City - also called Old Goiás even before the War -, were they tried to reorganize the State - and possibly the Federal gov. But they failed to contain the raiders groups, independent coronels, etc. In 2160 the populist João Gaiado presented with some coronels the idea of creating a great
Cerrado Empire, at least in what remained of the original bioma¹.
3 - Raiders groups - They are nomad, but settle mainly in the ruins of
Anapólis. The city is like a misture of New Reno, Den and a raider camp: It is also considered that who resides in Anapólis is the King of a loose "confederation" of raiders. So the city is very disputed and is bathed in blood. The current Raider King is Nonô, leader of the Cobras. A cruel man, we have some issue with the neighboring Mortos and the Ceifeiros (see below)
4 - Caldas Novas - the city of the wet pools and rivers are experiecing a great stability, but, being a great trade and touristic hub, their government is controlled by coronels.
5 - Coronels - After the bombs fell, the control of food and water are in the hand of the great landlords. Before agricultural enterprainers, now almost kings of their own feuds, the coronels are powerful. They have their own armies, their own towns and their own trade routes where they supply great part of former Brazil!
6 - Cidade dos Anjos - a christian commune constructed by the followers of Santa Cida, a woman with suppost miracolous power who believes that land are God given and shall not be taken by coronels. (inspired in a true Goyan women called Santa Dica)
7 - Ceifeiros - a group of "raiders" leaded by Mauro Lojas. Mauro was the son of wealthy traders and was shocked with the cruelty of the Cerrado. He formed his own mercenary group, seeking to punish and to protect the weak. Before a gentle man, now transformed by years of blood ans scars, he seeks to control Anapólis and to form his own empire of law.
7 - Costa & Silva - Not all coronels are staunch conservatives lusting from power. Costa & Silva leads some landlords who are sympathetic to the cause of Goiás and even with Santa Cida.

¹ The Cerrado is a savanah like vegetation, but in 2160 is almost a semi-desertic bioma.
