Yom Kippur/1973 Oil Crisis: Worst case Scenario

I'm currently planning an AH Story Thats basically ASB/Rule of cool but the PoD is probably going to be around the Yom Kippur war and the subsequent Oil Crisis.

So I was wondering if I could pick your brains. What are the worst possibly outcomes out of the crisis? I'd imagine total worst case is Soviets and US actively intervene on both sides and it leads to WW3.

From an economic point of view what impact would a protracted war in the middle east. Would it lead to earlier investment in renewable technologies? Would it lead to unrest in the West? Anyway. I'd love to hear your opinions. This story will most likely be ASB but I'd love to see some non-ASB discussion, I dont know a massive amount about the Arab-Israeli conflict

well Israel was with-in minutes of using nukes on the Syrians, if Israel doesn't wait for its counter attack and lets one loose on the Syrians I fear thats the end for all of humanity.

Here's a worst-case weltsbescheissung for all of 1973 (including having President James Eastland, Sec. of State Dean Rusk, and Premiere Mikhail Suslov in office during the Yom Kippur war).
