June 14, 2014: The Technology Investments Act (SIA) of 2014 is introduced in the Senate. It aims to provide more funds for NASA at around $300 billion, aiming to land in the Moon again by 2022 using the ISS and Mars by 2030. It also increases scientific research investment by $100 billion.
June 23, 2014: The SIA passes the House, 257-178.
July 3, 2014: The SIA passes the Senate, 64-36.
July 4, 2014: The SIA is signed by President Obama.
July 5, 2014: The economy of the United States expads by about 4.4%, unemployment is at 4.5%, and the budget deficit is at 6.5%, and Obama's approval rating is at 63%, the Pew Research Center reports.
July 9, 2014: President Obama announces that he is entering talks for the Trans-Pacific Partnership and NAFTA amendment talks.
July 24, 2014: The Gun Responsibility Act (GRA) is introduced in the House. It imposes stringenr gun controls similar to Canada's laws.
August 29, 2014: The GRA passes the House, 234-201.
September 15, 2014: The GRA passes the Senate, 60-40.
September 16, 2014: The GRA is signed by President Obama.
September 19, 2014: The Supreme Court legalizes same-sex marriage in the landmark case Obergefell vs. Hodges (1).
October 14, 2014: The Supreme Court upholds the GRA after some reviews.
October 19, 2014: The Renewed Economic Investments Axt (REIA) is introduced in the House. It builds upon previous infrastructure and stimulus laws, adding $1.2 trillion to new and existing projects. It also imposes stringent regulations on the airline industry to improve services, aims to make US airports modernized, and aims to build bus rapid transit systems (BRTS) in all major cities in the United States. It also adds more investments in bailing out consumers still reeling from the Great Recession.
October 24, 2014: The REIA passes the House, 245-190.
November 12, 2014: The RIEA passes the Senate, 67-33.
November 29, 2014: The RIEA is signed by President Obama.
January 29, 2015: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announces her candidacy for President of the United States (2)
February 4, 2015: President Obama and Vice President Biden both endorse Clinton for President, the latter backing out after Clinton's announcement. After this, Clinton is expected to win the Democratic nomination without any major opposition (3).
