I'm at a loss. I can't decide on how the British Armed Forces are going to defeat the massive Soviet air armada about to descend on them. I have to pick an over all strategy and I've tried in various internet sites to get input and the suggestions are all over the map. The problem with this is that if I choose one over the others the proponents of each will roast me alive. I need suggestions and then a vote on how Fighter Command can possibly stand up to 5 to one odds of escorted bombers ranging throughout the British Isles. There will be no where to hide and no where to run once you're out of fuel and ammo.

So far the suggested defenses are:

1. Take the fight to the Soviets. Attack them first in France etc.

2. Hit them over the Channel with everything you got before they start to spread out and hit their targets. Setup massive amounts of picket ships filled with AA and hit them both as they enter and return over the Channel.

3. Use your superior command, control and radar to snipe at them. Overwhelm them locally where they are vulnerable and they can be isolated. Wait for your the best situation and then hit them with all you have. Concentrate your few assets in heavily defended bases with massive AA coverage so that your planes can land and take off unmolested then go with the "Big Wing" tactics and attempt to overwhelm them on a local basis with huge concentrations of your own forces aided by your radar.

4. Spread out all your forces throughout the UK in lightly defended hidden landing strips and use Squadron size elements to hit and run trying to draw the Reds into flack traps and ambushes. Conserve your forces for the long run and leave the defense of your cities to the AA guns.

Any other suggestions would be entertained and then I would suggest that I make a poll and we vote.
