WWII with different physical geography: Biscay Channel

Let's imagine that Spain and Portugal are in an island, separated from France by Biscay Channel.

How would this have influenced to WWII happenings.

Guy, I suspect this may have had one or two effects prior to WWII.

Although I really like these types of PODs climate and geography PODs don't work like this. You need to give additional information. Such as:

The depth of the new channel?
How long has it been there?
Will this affect Ocean currents or winds in a big way (the conveyer is a good one t take into account)?
Is Mediterranean wildlife allowed to mix with wildlife from the North Sea?
If this is done on the eve of WW 2 what happens to the people living there?

Bluntly put, Why would it make any differeance?

Spain was Neutral, and the only impact it would do is make it more Difficult for the Jews to flee to Portugal.

That's a pile of mountains that just got turned to beachfront property!

The effect of that shift is going to be prehistoric; don't forget things like the Second Punic war had Hannibal marching from Spain through France and into Italy. I'd go so far as to say that this butterflies things from the era of the Roman Republic.

There are going to be cities on the Biscay Channel that don't exist in OTL; there are going to be rivers draining into it that didn't in OTL. The PoD is going to be so early (Prehistoric) that mass migrations of human tribes in the Roman era and later are going to be messed up. Iberia might become mostly North African culturally; it might not even be a part of Europe; alternatively, the Biscay Channel might be an important trading route that could allow English Wool easy access into Italy and Greece.

There isn't going to be WW2 as we know it, because in all likelihood there is no France and Germany as we know them at this point...

dramatic gasp!
you mean this could be a war between the Papal states, HRE, and Bohemia against the Grand Duchy of Warshaw, the Kingdom of Norway and Denmark, Empire of Manchukuo, and the Republic of Texas?

... I had to say that.

Here, here! I agree!

It is obvious that the Almoravid Caliphate would win the war. The Scotts and French would have no chance.

Well duh. Scottish Hydraulic Walking Tanks can't swim, but Almoravid Fire Zeppelins can float over the Channel willynilly any time they damn well please.

Long story short: Notre-Dame de Paris has minarets by the end of '44.
