WWI WI: Germany and the US Switch Positions

Is it to ASB for Germany to somehow become a member of the Entente, with the US as part of the Central Powers? Without just renaming the factions, I mean both sides keeping their original ideologies. And, if now, how would this work out?

Posted because there's just not enough WWI what ifs.

Well, the French-Russian alliance was formed in direct opposition to Germany, so strictly-speaking, not without changes going much further back. However, an alliance between Germany and Britain is completely plausible.

America could go insane in Latin America during the war. Then England might get involved or Japan could feel threatened in the Pacific. If the Entente declared war on the US the Germans would not necessarily have an alliance but they would be on the same side.

Wait, so you are postulating France-Germany-Russia-UK versus USA-Austria-Ottomans?
Especially since, with your last post, that was going to be post-1900!:eek:
