WW3 without western countries.

Just as stated. How with a pod after ww2 can a war break out which is refered to as ww3 and which does not directly involve any of the countries that are generally considered part of the west. Or how could it happen sometime in the future.

Sino-Soviet split gets hot and drags in India, Pakistan, and the middle east somehow would probably best best.

Sino-Soviet War over the Soviet Far East. There were battalion size border clashes between the two countries.

Departure: The Chinese escalation the clash and launch a full scale invasion of the Soviet Far East. Pakistan is enticed to declare war on the Soviet Union, then India joins on the Soviet side. Now about half of the worlds population would be involved in a war.

Hmmm who would win a Sino-Soviet war? I suppose it would depend on the year. What do you think NATO and the West be doing, calling for peace no doubt but would they act on it?

I believe the phrase would be "A pox on both their houses" like the Iran Iraq war, maybe with some minor aide to one side or the other. Unless it is in danger of going full nuclear at which point they will forcefully say STOP

Depends on the year I suppose but then again the Soviets always had a leg up on the Chinese in equipment, training, logistics, tactics.....the Chinese had more manpower but that's about it.

Its true the Soviet had superior logistics and equipment, but a lot of their continental equipment was stationed West of the Urals. I realize that the Sino-Soviet border was somewhat fortified but not nearly as much as the European one. The Soviets would have to waste valuable time moving their men and materials East that I imagine China would make significant gains during the early stages of the war. The other question is also how much the Soviets are willing to commit to the East in the face of tensions in the West. I'm imagining that this conflict would take place around the 1960-70's (Maybe after an escalation of the 1969 conflict?) so I reckon that the Chinese would have the upper hand initially.

A Sino-Soviet war would be the best bet. If you got both sides to avoid nuclear weapons, you could end up with a scaled-up Iran-Iraq war, with the Soviets crushing any Chinese attempt on Siberia and the PLA/guerrilla forces wearing down Soviet advances into the more populated regions of Manchuria. Add to that an India/Pakistan conflict and maybe Vietnam as well and you could get an Asiawide war.

The only problem is naming. As the West would not be directly involved, occidental observers might very well be hesitant to call it a world war. The conflict might end up being known as the "East Asian war" or "Asian war" or simply "Sino-Soviet war" instead of WW3. I feel you'd have to involve more countries, especially nations closer to the West. Perhaps we could have something big going in the Middle East simultaneously, with one or more players there having friendships with the Indians/Soviets or Chinese/Pakistanis.

Brazil just doesn't have the power projection, and China's focus in Africa is centered around soft power (diplomacy, economic ties, etc). Besides, the only reason China is involving itself in Africa are the bountiful deposits of natural resources, many of which Brazil already has in great quantity. There would be no incentive for Brazil to go to Africa to meet those needs.

You could escalate it to the warring countries proxies in Africa. Dont think the US would look kindly on much hapenning in S. America.
You could also bring Indonesia into it, thus expanding the naval side of things (and starting to worry the West more)
