WW3 how would Canada fare?

This is a response to the forum regarding least damaged European states after an all-out nuclear attack in October 1962 or another ATL.

The map showed the UK and Germany being hit very hard but Italy Switzerland and Austria amd most of France have very little or no hits.

I'd like to see a similar map of Canada if possible.....

Depends on the timing of the war.

In general, I doubt that canadian cities would be hit to badly, but you will see multiple nuclear strikes against radars, airbases, etc... both in Canada and across the border. Not sure what the exact target list would be.

However, I think canada gets off with maybe only a handful of hits until the 70s or so. During the Cuban missile crisis, the Soviets had only a handful of ICBMs, and its questionable whether all would have been able to launch and hit their targets. The targeting policy would have been rather selective, and I doubt that too many canadian cities topped the charts (although some missiles would undoubtably hit). And I am relativly confindent that American air defense could handle the bulk of the bombers, so Canada may get off fairly lightly.
