WW3 G vs. J

What I meant was that two tyrants who wanted to take over the entire world would inevitable clash. There is no way around it. What would the form of this clash be like?

I've never heard of Adolf Hitler as well as the Japanese military government wanting to take over the entire world.

A power clash would not be inevitable as you make it seem. The Japanese would have no desire to expand beyond Eastern and Southeastern Asia, and I'm hard-pressed to see a reason why the Reich would want to take on the logistical nightmare of trying to conquer the Empire of Japan. I think at most local proxy conflicts on the fringes of their respective spheres of influence is what we'd see, just like the OTL cold war.

I know that I'm double posting and I'm sorry about that. I just need to point out that the axis didn't need to beat america they just needed to drive the U.S. out of the pacific and conquer britian and russia. So this allows the U.S. to be the one to make germany and japan fight. It also leads to a cold war in the pacific.

I think you may be underestimating the US' will to fight in WWII. A war without a European base would be nigh impossible, sure, but I can easily see a naval war continuing on in the Atlantic. Besides, I think previous posts on this thread have noted the near impossibility of Japan beating the US in the Pacific Theater.

Notwithstanding all of that, a competition between an Axis Germany and Japan would be primarily naval. I can't see Germany being able to project its power all the way to the middle of Siberia or India, and I think both of them would have their hands full with various guerrilla movements. IMHO I don't think Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan could ever truly control Russia or China, so we could see strong resistance movements in those areas (supplied by the US?) requiring large amounts of garrisons to keep them down.

Okay, I'm sorry about saying that they wanted to conquer the entire world.
It wouldn't be a true naval war in the pacific, it would be a cold war. Japan would be able to have a big navy with the acquisition of the dutch east indies and malaya.

Between who, the Japanese and Germans or the Japanese and Americans? Both have problems. If it's with the Germans, how in the heck are they going to be able to project their weight into the Pacific? Even in OTL they didn't have anything of note there. If it's with the Americans, I say again that I don't think they would have sued for peace with Japan unless they suffered a truly catastrophic defeat very, very early in the war. IMHO I think Japan was doomed right after OTL Midway.

It would be with Japan and America and Germany and America You have to remember, the americans are more spread out. They have two oceans to cover while germany and japan only have one.
