WW2 General swap... Mac in Europe / Ike in Asia?

This should be interesting... General Douglas MacArthur and later General Dwight D. Eisenhower had crosspaths and worked together in the Philippines in 1930...

What if...

They changed places...

MacArthur was Assigned in Europe goes on to occupy Ikes Seat

And

Eisenhower gets the same job MacArthur during World war 2...

Who would be more successfull in ending their own war quicker?

ASB. MacArthur couldn't work with full military allies. Just ask General Thomas Blamey. Mac's nationalism + ego would haved shamed Monty and made Patton look like a shrinking violet.

Ditto. Also, if there was anyone who knew the situation in Asia best, it would be MacArthur. Roosevelt does not have a reason to transfer Dugout Doug out of the theater and have someone fresh to replace him.

Eisenhower was a master politician. Soothing egos, working out the co-operation between allies was his best game. He was also a superb organised and logistican, all of which benefitted the allied war effort in western Europe immensly.

MacArthur was none of these and would most likely have caused major damage to the war effort in western Europe.

Meeting the Soviets at the Rhine, perhaps?
