WW2 1925-1935 AHC

So this challenge is to have WW2 break out between 1925 and 1935.

How can this happen? What crises and wars could escalate making the interwar era not the interwar era?

How would the technology advances play in? Are 1920s tanks and planes much or only marginally superior to their 1910s counterparts?

Thoughts?

The only chance I can see this happening is if Trotsky somehow takes over the USSR and goes full 'exporting the revolution' in 1925 with a resulting mess playing out throughout Eurasia.

Or Sternberg somehow manages to defeat the Bolsheviks and China and Japan and brings about the Buddhist hell unleashed on a decadent Europe. That, would be interesting, if maybe possibly ASB.

1935 might be more likely; after all, Russia might not have fully recovered from its civil war yet in 1925.

Also, other than the overthrowing of the Bolshevik regime, what do you think that the outcome of this TL's WWII is going to look like?

1935? Hitler decides to remilitarize the Rhineland in December. The French aren't under a caretaker government and Laval is in charge, still considering Germany a traditional enemy. Laval decides to send troops in. Notwithstanding the orders to withdraw if challenged, junior German officers in local command order to fire, and the French fire back. War is declared. The Poles, albeit France has not requested their assistance, consider it a matter of honor to provide it to their allies, since the Germans clearly are the aggressors. Not to mention that they can take Gdansk that way. The small, unprepared German Heer is quickly beaten along the borders, but then the enemies are bogged down by logistics, unclear objectives, and growing German resistance. The British broker a ceasefire with the new German Führer, General Von Blomberg. Final peace conditions confirm the demilitarization of the Rhineland and assign Gdansk and minor border areas to Poland.

It's not exactly a world war, but at least you have some of the players of WWII shooting at each other.
