WW1.5

Was it possible for Italy and the UK to go to war over Eithiopea in 1935.

As the League Of Nations did nothing apart from a call for economic sactions was the UK in any way able to stop Italy by herself and if how would a war between the 2 nations evolve.

As the UK had a huge navy at this point i would have thought that she would rule the waves rather well but Italy has a large and at that point modern airforce plus a large army so there is an interesting balence.

Would this drag in any of the other great powers and if not how would it effect WW2 with a win or bloody draw for each power.

Allowing weapons and supplies to be shipped through Djibouti to Addis Ababa will improve the Ehtiopians' chances substantially. Instructors and a volunteer air force could also be possible. If the British deny the Italians transit through Suez and Gibraltar, it will be hard for them to supply their forces too.

So just an active LoN condemnation, a stop for shipping contraband and active support for the Ethiopians could probably stop the Italian invasion.
