Writer's Block Pandemic

Speaking as someone who's never written anything outside of ASB work before....the standards that are more or less enforced via user feedback are too high a bar for me to put any ideas I've had into a thread on this site. Also being a very Eurocentric site, people would scream bloody murder at me if I handwave Europe in favor of focusing my attention elsewhere when there would be ramifications in Europe because of my POD. Simply far too much effort for something that should be fun.

this is part of why i've decided, when it gets to that, that the main TL project which i DO eventually plan to post here will go in the ASB forum: i'm placing the narrative above absolute plausibility, which is why almost all of the threads i start here are intended to be discussed as self-contained scenarios even though i'm actually gonna be combining them all together in the final product.

what i, personally, like to do when devising ATLs is make a world that is both familiar and strange (so, for example, President of the United States Winston Churchill even though one of the earlier defined PODs is that the Norman invasion fails. where someone would ask "Why is Churchill still here if your POD is in 1066?" i'd answer "Who the fuck cares? :D")

I've been preoccupied with other projects, but I do have something big in the works -- over 6,000 words so far. It'll need be at least twice that size (and it'll need to be edited) before I'm ready to start posting anything up. Fingers crossed for the new year.

I'll be looking forward to it.

And if there's anywhere to do a shameful plug, this is the place. I'd really appreciate it if someone would like to look over the TL in my sig and let me know what they think about it so far. Feedback really helps.
