Tecumseh had heard that Governor Harrison might be making a call. Therefore he decided to stay. having checked the ammunition supplies, he decided that they did not have enough ammo for a long battle. He decided that he would stall for time.
When Harrison made his cal, the Indians stood down. Since it was getting late in the fall, Harrison decided to let them stay through the winter. He warned them that he would have to disperse in the spring. Then on February 13th 1812, the Mississippi River flowed upstream, as predicted by Tenskawatawa.
