Wrestling WI: Steve Austin was never fired from WCW

Currently I'm watching Steve Austins debut promo from ECW. But what if, Austin was never fired from WCW and made it in WCW, despite the old guys (Hogan and Savage in particular) being on the top. With "made it", I mean Austin actually winning the World Title, or having at least major storylines with the top guys like Ric Flair or Sting. Anyway, these are my major questions:

  • Would Austin still develop his Stone Cold-persona or something close to it?
  • Would Austin still shave his head and grow himself a beard, in order to look more "ruthless"?
  • Which role would Austin play in the nWo-Angle? Or would he play a role at all?
  • How much worse will WWE be off, since they won't have a top draw at all anymore?
  • How would have been Austins future in WCW? Would he have been one of the first wrestlers, who jumped ship from 1999 on? Or would he have stayed until the end?

He would never be as big or develop his Stone Cold Steve Austin persona if he wa never fired from WCW. ECW pretty much helped him develop into the wrestler he became in the Attitude era.Austin would just be a midcarder for the rest of his WCW career.

Steve Austin (real name Steve Williams) would never have become a main event star in WCW. He was Stunning Stev Austin in WCW, a total mid-carded and never making any real progress so when he went to ECW he got to reinvent himself and doing so brought him to Vince McMahons attention and got him his break in the WWF/E.

If he had stayed in WCW he would have eventualy gotten fed up with the lack of opportunities he got in the company and would have quit and jumped ship to the WWF/E where Vince would try to push him just to spite the competition but I dont think he would have been half as big as he was in OTL.
