In the 1920's news and facts don't come to the surface as fast considering the newness of the then technology. SO even though the corruption was there, as in Watergate, it possible he can be re-elected. Of course the question would be had he lived, would he be able to survive the corruption in his second term? Perhaps an impeachment might be possible? Or would the then Republican Party wish to not do the right thing by the country to follow through on such a move? Also, a lot might depend on Harding's over-all popularity at the time the scandals hit.
