Would "Entente" be a good name for the Franco-British Union?

The much ballyhooed two-headed beast that could have been.

A timeline about it.

Hypothetically, if the F-BU had been made, would the name "Entente" be appropriate for it? Let's call it the Anglo-French Entente. I'm thinking of a name that's neither similar to the "British Commonwealth", nor "French Union", utilizing a name from history (WWI). However, of course in this situation we're talking about an organization closer to Anschluss rather than an alliance that the word entente suggests.

I ask this on the behalf of my timeline that I'm never going to complete (start).

Why not "Union". It's spelled the same in both languages...

Depends on how tight a union it is.
As Dathi says union is as good a word as any for an actual united country. The Brits won't mind that the French already have their Union- the United of UK is just a variation of Union afterall.

If its looser though...then maybe 'understanding'/entente could work. A bit too French maybe.

France and Britain were already in an Entente form the start of the war.

This was something new and closer; Union would be the suitable term.

Entente was basically a short form of the "Entente Cordiale" - an expression that basically described the new relationship of France and Britain at the end of the 19th century. A Franco-british union is much more than just "cordiale" - at this point they're basically shacking up :p
