Okay, Edward VIII of the United Kingdom was a Nazi sympathiser. A lot of Axis-victory stuff has a reinstated Edward VIII as king of a puppet UK. But, of course, it was the 20th century and the role of monarch was basically ceremonial.
So, if Edward VIII didn't abdicate - say, if he never met Wallis Simpson - would it really have had any effect at all on the UK's position in the war? Just how much influence would King Edward have, and would it really matter if there was a conflict of interest between the monarch and the government?
