What the title says. Woodrow Wilson fiercely believed that the League would prevent all future wars. Many, both @ the time & since, were doubtful of this- & the UN's all-too many shortcomings seem to lend weight to this thesis(although George H.W. Bush once asserted: "To write off the United Nations' achievements in keeping the peace because of its inability to be effective in Czechoslovakia or Vietnam, would be like writing off medical science because it has not yet found a cure for cancer."*). OTH it seems quite improbable to me that the US joining the LON could possibly have made things WORSE. But- what does everyone else think?
