Would a South Africa without apartheid still be a Commonwealth realm today?

Let's say that the United Party wins the 1948 election in South Africa instead of the National Party. Perhaps Southern Rhodesia voted to join South Africa in 1922 in this timeline, resulting in there being more Anglo-Africans in South Africa that vote for pro-British parties. With the United Party in power, the South African government gradually adopts a system of universal suffrage, rather than increasing segregation. By the 80s, this state should presumably have universal suffrage. Would the South African monarchy survive until the present day in this scenario, or would the indigenous South Africans vote to become a republic eventually?

It wouldn’t as the monarchy in this timeline would in addition to a symbol of British imperialism is also seen as symbol of white supremacy

SIr divillars graaf, and Douglas Mitchell, United Party, stalwarts had a strong connection to the monarchy.
There would be an attempt to copt the mixed race population, and Indian population.
