Would a Gang of Four-Dominated China Remain Maoist?

Jiang Qing's Gang of Four was, on the whole, and for wholly pragmatic reasons, generally more hard-left than their opponents. If, in the wake of Mao's death, Jiang Qing's Gang of Four had won the power struggle, rather than Hua Guofeng and the eventual reformer Deng Xiaoping, would they have remained extremely Maoist, and for how long?

I was wondering wether it would be an imperative for them to eventually reform, to avoid becoming another North Korea. Why do you think that they would't reform?

They could become oversized North Korea, or after few decades of hardline rule they might try to reform as incompetently as OTL USSR did, breaking up.
