Ive always wondered what Hitler and his million-man SA would do if he was both denied the Chancellorship in 1933 and found himself/his party on the losing side once again in future general elections.(They actually lost seats in the 1932 Reichstag elections).

But for this scenario here, let's say both things happen in 1933 and '34:

1. Is plausible to consider that he'd attempt a 2nd Putsch

2. Could it succeed?

I do think Hitler may consider launching a second attempt at a Putsch if the government refuses to give him the Chancellorship--but I doubt it would succeed. There'd be significant opposition from the military elite.

If the SDP has a solid win in 1933, I can see the military supporting a Nazi putsch. They weren't huge fans of the National Socialists, but would prefer them to actual Socialists.

Depends on the rhetoric attached to the putsch. If Röhm is still around (does this butterfly the Night of the Long Knives?) is he spouting off about the Heer being subsumed into the SA? That could make a putschist NSADP look like a threat to the Heer. Also there would be no "Furher oath" at this point, so the Heer is still pledged to defend the constitution.

I think "no" personally, it was the 'legitimate' nature of the Nazis and Hitler's accession that prevented the Heer from taking action or even supporting him.
