Worst Book/Film never written or made

Yes. We have had a thread of the best book never written, and the best film never made.

But what would be such a bad book that we can thank the gods it was never written?

Note: ;) Has to be plausible. I mean some historical character that might be inclined to write a book, or possibly known as a writer. It might even be a good writer that unfortunately would have a bad idea.

Are you sure this should not be in the after 1900 section? Cause if it was I would suggest The LOTR movie that was discussed in the 1950's

Sure, it could really be in either one of them. The book thread was in pre-1900 if I remember correctly and the film thread was in post-1900.

But I think it´s okay if you mention 20th century stuff here. Most of us are aware that it occurred:p

Anyway, if they had made that LOTR movie, maybe it would be cult classic today?

Das Kapital-the movie.

The Bible-the movie

And so on. Every famous book would suck as movie.:D

Once I heard that some people were planning to make a sequel for Se7en (thanks god it never happened). To me, that's the worst movie never made, as the contrast between the need for such a (predictably bad) sequel and the quality of the first movie is just enormous... Just like when some monster full of hatred for mankind decided to release Terminator3. To me, a very bad sequel to a very good movie is worse than films like "manos: the hands of fate", "plan 9 form outer space" and all that.

I disagree. There have been many excellent accurate book to movie translations.

In fact, one I have watched recently was Malcolm X, obviously you can't fit his whole life or even his autobiography into a movie, but in my opinion, they did a great job anyway.

Maybe you are right (but the longer stuff might need a TV series).
