World War In 1856

The first war fought on six continents (Europe, India, Africa, China, South and North America) was Queen Anne's War in 1763. (the French and Indian War for Americans.)
Now we do an even bigger one, with Australia included.
POD is vice president Breckenridge taking over after Buchanon is killed by a southern terrorist. (southerners had a tendency towards murder and simple assault of northerners at the time, which eventually led to northern retaliation and civil war)
In this ATL the result in the Civil war taking place four years earlier and with the OTL Confederacy controlling the administration.
Some things don't change. The southerners grab all the arsenals and military equipment in the south and the north keeps the naval forces. Some things do change, like direct British support for the south now including vastly increased loans based on cotton. The main reason the British were reluctant to loan money to the south in OTL's civil war is that the OTL Confederate president was Jefferson Davis and Davis had explicitly called for the southern states to default on their overseas debt on several occaisions while in Congress. Without Davis negotiatians go much more satisfactorily for the south.
Another major change is that Maryland and Kentucky and Missouri are in southern hands. They were closely fought over at the beginning and major prizes in the OTL civil war. In this ATL they change sides. West Virginia is also at the beginning in southern hands.
The third major change is that instead of the Confederate secession votes and the constitutional convention being rigged to favor the rich slave owning planters, it's the northern abolitionists that have rigged the secession votes and conventions to favor their cause. The south still has the regular constitution and government.
When the north announces that it will not repay the US debt and the British blockade the northern harbors in retaliation, the south is brought into the war by it's alliance with Britain. France is not involved because Max has not made himself Emperor of Mexico at the time and they are not in conflict with either Britain or the north.
Other changes are that since the northerners are revolting and setting up their administration without the former administration holdovers, their information and decision making machinery is not riddled with southern spies. It is the northern spies that report on the south, instead.
Finally, the British are involved against the Taipings and the Sepoy revolt closely following their blockade war against the north. With fewer troops supporting the East India company the revolt is far more successfull. Rebel Indian troops cut off Britain's supply of nitrates within a few months, expcept for that smuggled out by coastal traders.
Again, with fewer troops and aid for the Ever Victorious Army, the Taiping take Shanghai and get a port on the China Sea before the British shut it down with another blockade. The Taiping are strong enough that this brings them into war with Britain at Hong Kong as the Imperial resistance collapses in the north of China.
So it is 1857. Britain is simultaneously at commerce war with the US, supporting land units in India, and trying to support the Imperial government in China. Russia is still sulking about the Crimean war treaties and Turkey is alarmed at the Crimean war treaties and the capitulations therein.
What happens in 1858 when the armies are trained and the roads are cleared for marching armies?

Beckenridge was a Southerner though, In fact he was a General in the Confederate Army durring the war
Right. When Buchannon dead, the Government is in southern hands. Which is why it is the north in revolt, refusing to assume the federal debts, etc.
It's not just reversing the situation for the sake of reversing it, though. If Buchanon was bumped off by a southerner, the north would decide it had had enough four years earlier.
Which brings in Ward as the leader of the Ever Victorious Army, and the Sepoys as revolting after Britain was tied down in the Americas and had pulled units some units out, was in the process of pulling more units out, and was definitely not about to put more units into India.
So more Sepoy units revolt, and that encourages others to revolt, etc.
You understand, in 1856 Britain would just have ended a war against the world's third largest nation, and about to start a war with a revolutionary faction in the largest nation, while the second largest nation was in revolt against them, and the world's second largest industrial power was looking for trouble and had just defaulted on the debts that it owed to Britain.
