World War 3: Third Reich vs. Imperial Japan

Basically two what-if situations (GASP ), what if the Axis Won, who would get what? How would the Americas be divided up, if at all?

And next, what if these two "allies" decided that what they got after the war wasn't enough, and wanted more, who would win in this brand new world war? Reich vs. Japan!!!

*excludes Facist Italy*

Germany has a decent chance of winning the war, if some of its ludicrous racial policies were suppressed at least until the war ended. With the support of the minorities the Soviets are in trouble and if the Nazis don't screw something else in the mean time, there is a good chance of defeating the Soviets and a ceasefire with the West being arranged.

Japan is a bit harder. As soon as the declared war on the Americans they had basically lost, with no way of out producing them. IMO the only way they can win against them is if they can defeat the US navy to a significant degree that the American people stop supporting the war, as terribly unlikely as it is.

Now for a war between the two sides, with no real way to defeat the USA, the Allies are going to be watching them. Even considering the utter lunacy of the leaders of both sides, I doubt that they would risk a huge war at the price of both total destrucion and an American attack while they are at their weakest.

Here's how America divided in the board game Tomorrow the World (which was this scenario)

I vaguely seem to remember that in the game, Japan got Madagascar and a tiny slither of mainland Africa, and Germany/Italy/Spain got the rest

And in Asia, Germany had the mid-East, Pakistan, and Soviet central Asia and northwards, but Japan had the rest of Asia.

I Laugh at the Idea of Japan taking over half of Canada.

However, a hypothetical war between Japan and Germany dose not seem all that impossible in a Axis Victorious world. Sure, Japan beating the Americans is very unlikely. BUt I think they could have achived "victory" in the sense that they managed to maintain an Empire.

Nazi doctrine basically states that war is a nessesity for civilization. And the Nazi view of race no doubt says that Aryans are superior to the Japanese.

If an Axis victorious world were to exsist, a war between Japan and Germany might well happen at some point. In likelyhood, Germany would win.

The Nazis and Japanese square off somewhere deep in a partitioned Russia beyond the Urals? Lots of space, low population and out of sight of the rest of the world I would guess all the toys come out the box.

Both of the countries have beliefs that they are the master race, so they would probably go to war very quickly.

The fighting is probably going to be in the middle of nowhere in Central Asia, and in the Indian Ocean. Germany+Europe is alot stronger than the Co-Prosperity sphere, so I think Japan will be on the defensive. They were good at maintaining armies with minimal supplies, so that might allow them to compensate somewhat.

Japan would have their sphere of interest in the Pacific and East Asia (both colonies and puppet regimes). Germany would control Europe and have a lot of influence in the Middle East. India might be the place Japanese and German interests collide. Perhaps India is split in German and Japanese friendly nations. Germany being angered that a Empire of Primitive Asians stop their expansion and it lead to war. I guess Japan could have some interests in Siberia too, and Russia become a battleground.

No. This idea always pops up, but it still is wrong. Since it has popped up even recently, I won't repeat everything here. Have a look at recent threads, keywords "Ukraine", and learn why it would not work.
