With the Lex Regia

In 1660 King Frederik III established a hereditary monarchy in Denmark with the Lex Regia.
Suppose Frederik III had not established a hereditary monarchy.
What happens to the monarchy in Denmark?

In the aftermath of Sweden's definite secession from the Kalmar Union in 1521, civil war and Protestant Reformation followed in Denmark and Norway.
When things had settled down, the Rigsraad of Denmark became weakened. It was abolished in 1660 when Denmark-Norway became a hereditary monarchy. These changes were confirmed in the Lex Regia. The Lex Regia stipulated that all power lay in the hands of the king. The king was only responsible toward the Lord.
