With Malice Towards All, and Charity Towards None: The Asassination of Mrs. Lincoln

We've talked occassionally about what a Lincolnite Reconstruction would look like. But let's suppose that in April of 1865, Booth's gun misfires, and he kills Mary Todd Lincoln.

How would a griefstricken Lincoln bind together the nation?
 
I like the idea of a dark lincoln but apart from that I have no comment really.

I guess the reconstruction could be harsher in some ways.
