With a Row Tow Tow the British Grenadiers

What happens if the British army decides to revive the concept of elite companies/battalions of Grenadiers, as a British counterpart to units like the Stormtroopers and Arditi and a callback to the Grenadier's origins as troops for assaulting and clearing fortifications?

Of course, OTL the British Army had "bombers" at platoon level. They were originally to be called grenadiers, but the Grenadier Guards threw a hissy fit over their elite status being cheapened, despite the bombers being much closer to the original concept of grenadiers as assault troops.

This concept isn't about that, though, it's about units in the spirit of the original grenadiers as a British counterpart to Stormtroopers, or as a picked battalion level shock unit.

First World War British shock troops? Look no further than the 46th (North Midlands) Division. Walked through the Hindenburg Line they did. Bloody hero's every one of 'em. Not to mention lessor buggers like the Canadian and Australian Corps. Bloomin' thousands of 'em. No worries gov, we've got the Hun right sorted. No point having 'shock troops' when every man jack can step up to the wicket and do his bit.
