You need to write a whole lot more then just a few sentences. Give more attention to detail and to the way you present the story. Also, here's a link to a thread on this topic from last summer; it's brief, but might be informative, as JFK's death on 12/11/60 will have immediate ramifications RE: the 1960 Electoral College vote. https://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=163112

After hearing the news that JFK had been assassinated the nation went into mourning.. On January 20 Lyndon B Johnson was sworn in as President. Shortly after being sworn in LBJ asked Congress to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1961 outlawing descrimination in the south banning Jim Crow forever. In 1962 Johnson passed the Voting Rights Act of 1962 outlawing decriminatory voting practices like the poll tax in the south. In Foreign affairs LBJ presided over the construction of the Berlin Wall and the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba which failed as well as the Cuban missile crisis which was only narrowly resolved without Nuclear war. In 1962 RFK was elected to the New York Senate seat beating incumbent Jacob Javits. In 1963 the 25th admendment was passed allowing LBJ to fill the vacancy in the Vice Presidency formed by JFKs assassination. LBJ chose Hubert Humphery of Minnesota as Vice President. Just in time for on November 22 1963 LBJ was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. Hubert Humphery was now President.
